Samuel D. Knight, DDS in Farr West, UT
Sam spent his early years working on a farm learning principles of hard work. He fulfilled a two-year mission in Ontario, Canada learning the joy of serving others. Attending Weber State College, he received his bachelor’s degree in 1985. He was accepted as one of ten students to receive a scholarship in the Dental Education Program at the University of Utah/Creighton University.
After graduating from dental school at Creighton University in 1988, he was accepted as one of three candidates to attend further training in a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City. This allowed Dr. Knight to receive additional training in sedation, root canals, difficult crown and bridge cases, as well as dental and partial dentures. Periodontal disease and difficult surgical extractions were also part of the training. This has proved to be a very valuable part of his education.
Dr. Knight continues to receive education and instruction on the latest techniques and materials by qualified professors in the fields that they specialize in. It is important to him to ensure that his patients receive the very best procedures and materials available to them today.
Dr. Knight has the latest in laser equipment, implant, and 3D x-ray technology. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentists, Utah Dental Association, Weber District Dental Association, Academy of LDS Dentists, and Ogden Academy of Dentists. In addition to his educational pursuits, Dr. Knight enjoys the outdoors. He enjoys running, biking, swimming, skiing, and hunting. He is able to participate in all of these activities with his family. Family is his most prized possession.
Sheila is the mother of two boys and one girl, Skyler, Spencer, and Sara, and is the wife of Sam. She attended Utah State University and Weber State College where she received her bachelor’s of science in Dental Hygiene with a minor in psychology in 1985. She has worked as a Dental Hygienist in part to help during dental school, to establish a dental practice, and most recently, when she is needed to fill in. Being a hygienist is a wonderful profession, especially now with the new laser technology available.
Sheila is laser certified with the American Academy of Laser Dentistry (AALD). It is great to learn about it and be able to see such a remarkable difference as Sheila and the Hygienists utilize it in the practice. She loves to play the piano, organ, and violin. Sheila loves her callings in church and helping her children. Water skiing, snow skiing, biking, running, outdoors, all of which her husband and children do alongside of her are just a few of her favorite activities. She has a wonderful family and great coworkers that work with her and Dr. Knight. She truly loves each of them and is grateful for their influence and presence in her life.
Maria worked with Dr. Knight and many other dentists as a Dental Assistant at another facility beginning in 1992. When given the opportunity to work for Dr. Knight in his private practice she jumped at the chance. Working with Dr. Knight and his wife as their assistant for four years, Maria felt honored to be hired back after graduating from Weber State University with a BS in Dental Hygiene.
For Maria it has been wonderful watching Dr. Knight’s practice grow, over the past 20 years, starting out as a four person staff this office has grown quickly to twelve. She appreciates the opportunity to certify with the American Academy of Laser Dentistry (AALD) and use this knowledge for the betterment of her patients. Maria enjoys many long-standing patient relationships as well as new ones she gets to meet. She is a wife and a very busy mom of four boys. Hobbies include, spending time with family, biking, reading, singing and watching soccer games.
Nicole began work for Dr. Knight as a Dental Assistant in October 1999. In May 2002, she graduated from Weber State University with a BS in Dental Hygiene. Since then she has been a Dental Hygienist, loves working for Dr. Knight, and enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients as she provides for their oral health.
She is continually improving her knowledge and skills with continuing education and is laser certified with the American Academy of Laser Dentistry (AALD). Nicole is married and has four busy children. She has many hobbies and loves spending time with her family camping, riding ATV’s, and boating.
Stephanie Hudman has been in the Dental industry for 19 years working as a chair-side assistant and orthodontic assistant. Being in the dental profession was always her goal in life. She graduated from Weber State University Dental Hygiene program in May of 2000 with an Associates of Science degree. She is laser certified with the American Academy of Laser Dentistry (AALD). She has been employed with Dr. Knight for 12 years as a Dental Hygienist.
She loves everything about her job, the lifelong relationships with loyal patients and staff, making a difference in patient’s lives with their oral homecare and the continued increase in knowledge she gains every day. She feels privileged to be a part of an office staff that is always encouraged to stay current with the latest technologies. Stephanie has many passions in life such as spending time with her husband and children, water and snow skiing, and of course shopping! But, more than anything, Stephanie enjoys watching her children succeed in their various activities.
Ann graduated from Weber State University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She loves working with her patients and joined Dr. Knight’s office in 2010. Ann is laser certified by the American Academy of Laser Dentistry. As a successful inventor, Ann designed and patented a dental suctioning device. Her hobbies include officiating basketball, white water rafting, swimming, race walking, and spending time with her husband and four children.
As a dental assistant Alesha has been a valuable part of Dr. Knight’s office since 2009. She excels in all aspects of chair-side assisting. She is both a wife and a mother of an adorable son. She enjoys sports, reading, and above all spending time with her family. She has grown fond of the many friendships at work and always enjoys a good laugh and excels at making others laugh with her.
Capri joined Dr. Knight’s team in June 2007, where she enjoys working in the dental field learning and experiencing new things as a chair-side dental assistant. She enjoys being able to help our patients feel comfortable while in our office. She cherishes the friendships she has made with the girls and Dr. Knight. Her free time is spent camping and relaxing with her husband, two active boys and beautiful baby girl.
Jana has been a Dental Assistant with Dr. Knight’s team since March 2001. She is proficient at assisting in all dental procedures some of which include extractions, implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures. She has made herself a valuable part of our team. She is happily married, with one son and two daughters who keep her very busy. Jana enjoys the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, yard work, watching her kids play sports, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
Kim has enjoyed working in the dental field with Dr. Knight’s team since 2006 and is grateful for the opportunity to work as a Dental Assistant alongside Dr. Knight. She also assists the Dental Hygienists, and takes pride in her work and loves getting to know the patients. Kim considers her co-workers her extended family and values their friendship. Kim is wife to a great husband and has three children, loves to be outdoors, travel, and spend time with her family.
Leesa, born and raised in Ogden, UT, graduated from Stevens-Henager with an AAS in Business Management and Accounting. Her extensive and proficient experience in record keeping, Accounts Payable and Receivable, and public service have all attributed to her success in the front office. Leesa has held her position with Dr. Knight since 2015. She attributes a large portion of her continued achievement to the warming nature of Dr. Knight’s office, its staff, and clients.
She is both a wife of 27 years and a mother of 2 daughters and a son. She has two grandsons and another on the way. In addition to being a grandma, Leesa loves to camp, boat, four-wheel, garden, and, most importantly, spend time with her family.
Meg has been a marvelous addition to Dr. Knight’s team, bringing a positive smile and a happy heart to the operatories each day. The patients feel so welcome when she is around. Meg has worked at the office sense October 2015 and has grown in her positions, leaps and bounds, in such a short time. She has enjoyed working with great individuals who are so talented at what they do. In her spare time she loves to be with her family at the ballpark, has a passion for quilting, and thrives on good vibes. We are so grateful to have her here.
Camille brings to Knight Dental more than 25 years of experience in the Dental care field. She thoroughly enjoys the work, particularly the interaction with co-workers and patients. Her highest priorities in life are her family and her faith. She loves taking care of her home, keeping it clean and orderly inside and out. Her hobbies include camping, riding ATVS, riding motorcycles with her husband of 35 years, gardening, and of course manicuring her lawn and yard. She loves to support anything her grandkids are doing, and really enjoys watching them play soccer, lacrosse, football, baseball, dance, choir, and any other thing they do! There is a sleepover at Grandma’s house almost every weekend. Camille also enjoys reading, exercising, and religious education.
